Men are 3x more likely than women to have OSA.
“OSA is particularly uncommon in nonobese, premenopausal women; however, the rates of OSA in postmenopausal women not taking hormone therapy approach the rates of OSA in men of a similar age and BMI.
The prevalence of OSA increases with age, especially in persons older than 60 years.
OSA is also more prevalent among persons who are obese.
Both an aging population and a growing rate of obesity contribute to the increasing rate of OSA”
