- Molarity = Moles / 1 Liter Solvent.
- Molality = Moles / 1 Kg Solvent.
- Osmolarity = Osmoles / 1 Liter Solution
- Osmolality = Osmoles / 1 kg / Solvent
Molarity, Molality, Osmolarity, and Osmolality define or describe one solution.
Tonicity (hypo, iso, hyper-tonic) is a word used to compare two solutions.
Serum Osmolality = (2Na+) + (glucose / 18) + (BUN / 2.8) = 285 (normally)
