GOLD combined COPD assessment

The 2011 GOLD “ABCD” assessment tool has been revised and updated. The following tables are from GOLD 2017 included here for ease of access.
Note that the ABCD assessment tool is now like a punnet square. Also, it has exacerbation history on the  Y-axis and Symptoms on the X-axis.
In the revised combined COPD assessment tool, “ABCD groups will now be derived exclusively from patient symptoms and their history of exacerbation. Spirometry, in conjunction with patient symptoms and exacerbation history, remains vital for the diagnosis, prognostication and consideration of other important therapeutic approaches.” GOLD 2017
