CHRIST: Mnemonic for Generalized Anxiety Disorder

MNEMONICS

If you are a Christian or know something about Christian theology, you’ll like this mnemonic (CHRIST).

In GAD, the anxiety and worry cause significant distress or impairment and is associated with three or more of the following six symptoms: 

  1. Concentration problems 
  2. Headaches and muscle tension  
  3. Restlessness or being on the edge 
  4. Irritability 
  5. Sleep disturbances (trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or being rested) 
  6. Tiredness or fatigued 

I use the word CHRIST to remember those six symptoms because I cast my anxiety and worry on Christ.
