Metabolic Side Effects of 2nd Generation Antipsychotics

  • Dyslipidemia
  • Hyperglycemia
  • Weight Gain

High Risk : Clozapine, Olanzapine
Low Risk: Aripiprazole, Ziprasidone

Monitoring Guidelines
BMI – Baseline and monthly
Fasting glucose, fasting lipid panel, waist circumference, BP – Baseline, at 3 months, and yearly thereafter.
